After publixhing his third book, it wsa suggested to the author that he write his own memoir, since he was born on Chincoteague and has spent most of his life on the Island.

"It is noted that the stories in this book only reflect my recollection of events that happened to me during my lifetimes. I may have changed some of the names of persons I came in contact with over the years. However, I assure you that I only did so to protect the privacy of those depicted."
