When the Oyster Museum opened its doors in 1972, one of the items offered for sale was this cookbook. Over theyears, we have had many requests to reprint the cookbook. In 2011 the museum was reborn as The Museum of Chincoteague Island, but the requests for teh cookbook never stopped. We have answered teh call and this book is a reprint from teh original. These recipes, like the concept for the museum itself, came from teh kitchens of island women, eater to preserve their island heritage. While some of the things mentioned in the book about the museum no longer apply, the recipes are unchanged and still delicious.
