The natural beauty of Assateague, Virginia inspired me to write this book for my children. Kim Anderson grew up 30 minutes from Chincoteague and spent her summers playing on Assateague Beach. Her family now loves vacationing with her parents, who retired to the island.

Kim obtained an undergraduate degree in psychology from St Mary's College of Maryland, and a Master of Science degree in occupational therapy from Towson University. She has worked wiht elementary-age children in the Baltimore County Public School System for over 18 years, specializing in children with autism and special needs.
